Two hundred volunteers searched throughout the Santa Monica Mountains looking for any evidence related to Donna Jou's disappearance. Steven Burgess, the man who ultimately confessed to being involved in Donna's disappearance, was known to have spent a lot of time in the area.

Family attorney Gloria Allred, along with Nili Jou (Donna's mother) and Mike Melson, brief the searchers prior to them being dispatched to their search areas.
