Using A Drop-Down Camera To Clear A Collapsed Mineshaft

Drop Down CameraHere is a close up of us working with our drop-down camera to clear another mine. We were able to get past two cave-ins and into a "room" about 75' down. There appeared to be a table with a bottle on it (shown in the video below). However, we weren't able to get a good look and it was too dangerous for personnel to go down inside.

Clearing A Mineshaft At The Bagdad-Chase Gold Mine

Drop Down CameraThis shaft was 150' deep and had been "plugged" at that depth with a large boulder. The deepest shaft we cleared on this search for April Pitzer was over 300' straight down.

Clearing The Red Dog Mine

Red Dog MineTSAR worked with San Bernardino County Search & Rescue to clear this copper mine in the Mojave Desert while searching for April Pitzer. This mine is fairly new - it has a metal headframe (in the background) and some of the timbers inside have Home Depot price tags on them.

The shaft inside the mine still has a very solid ladder & ore cart tracks.
